Located in the 95 east longitude, 29 north latitude. The Namchag Barwa Trek is cycled by the Yarlu Zangbo River. Here formed the largest valley of the world-Yarlu Zangbo River valley (other name is Namchag Barwa valley). The average deepth of the valley is 5000m. The bottom is 5382m. In 1994, Great Canyon of the Namchag Barwa Trek was confirmed as the largest in the world by both America Geography Committee and Guinness Book of World Records.

Detailed Itinerary

  • Day 01: Kathmandu/Chengdu-Lhasa (flight), arrive Lhasa for night, and have a rest in the afternoonDay 02:

  • Drive to Bayi town for night

  • Day 03: Drive to Pailong for night, camp, preparing for trekking

  • Day 04: Trek fron Pailong town, cross cable bridge, then to Yumei for night in camp or local people house

  • Day 05: Trek to Zhaqu for night

  • Day 06: Full day trekking around Zhaqu, Yalung Zangbo River and Namche Barwa, the deepest canyon of the world, camp for night

  • Day 07: Trek to Yumei from Zhaqu for night

  • Day 08: Trek to Pailong and then drive to Bayi for night

  • Day 09: Drive to Basum (Basu) for night

  • Day 10: Drive to Bamda (Bangda) for night

  • Day 11: Flight to Lhasa – Chengdu/Kathmandu
