Overview

Round Annapurna Trek is one of the world’s most famous treks also knows as Annapurna Circuit trekking. It is considered as one of the busy trek route which starts with a filthy road extending up to the valley of Besisahar and Khudi. We have easy walk in the beginning and then the path connects the valley of the Marsyangdi River with the Kaligandaki. Thorung La (5416m) is the highlight of the trek and one can see gigantic Himalayan and pass through subtropical to alpine region. Diverse ecosystems, cultures and beautiful landscape of lush paddy fields, oak forests, in the Kaligandaki the deepest gorge in the world, which make the Annapurna Circuit trekking one of the most famous trekking route in the world. Also, Around Annapurna trek offers an extraordinary panorama of Annapurna (8,097m) including, Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Lamjung, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, Tukuche peak and many other stunning peaks. Besides, you will see 100 varieties of orchids and several varieties of rhododendron forests in the world. Moreover, you can see various wild lives like snow leopards, mountain Thar, jackal, blue sheep; different species of birds including colored Impeyan, kokla, blood pheasant, and varieties of butterflies and insects. In totality, 100 mammals, more than 60 reptiles and amphibians, 450 species of birds, 9 types of Rhododendrons can be spotted in this area.

  • Day 19:  Tadapani to Pokhara (827m/2,789ft) via Ghandruk: 5-6 hours trek, an hour drive

  • Day 20: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu 5-6 hours

  • Day 21: Final departure

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
After arriving in Kathmandu you will be picked up from Airport by Yala Adventure/Asiatic Travels' s representative and transfer to hotel. We will served authentic Nepalese cuisine with cultural show in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu: Trek Preparation/ Optional Sightseeing tour
Today, we will be free on your own. If we want to include some sightseeing around it is possible. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous 'Monkey Temple' and Buddhist shrine called Bouddhanath, which are listed in UNESCO World Heritage sites.The afternoon we will have trip briefing by Yala Adventure's office or your hotel.

Day 03: Drive Besisahar and Khudi (800m/2,624ft)7-8 hours
After breakfast we start driving to Besisahar including the best view of Trishuli River.We will drive to Khudi, the starting point of our trek. You will also have the choice to start the trek from Besisahar which will be another 1 hour long.

Day 04: Besisahar/Khudi to Sirung (2200m/7216 ft) 6-7 hours
The first days trek after crossing a few suspension bridges and waterfalls including  rice paddies and a subtropical forest.You will trek to several ascends, descends and we pass an ethnic Tamang settlement of Taranche. We can see the close-up views of Nadi Chuli and Manaslu mountains on the way.

Day 05: Sirung to Jagat (1,300m/4265ft) 6-7 hours
After the breakfast at lodge we leave for for Jagat which is on a relatively easy trail.  We will flooow the forest trail we see many varieties of birds too. We also cross a some suspension bridge over Sangu Khola and Marshyangdi River and some other rivers too.

Day 06: Jagat to Dharapani (1,960m/6,430ft) 7-8 hours
After breakfast, we start another day agin. We trek to Dharapani after descends from Jagat  and see river and forests.After the crossing of some forest and suspension bridge, we climb steeply towards the slippery path, waterfalls and cliffs, we finally reach Dharapani for overnight.

Day 07: Dharapani to Chame (2,710m/8,891ft) 5-6 hours
After breakfast and forest walk we reach at Chame the district headquarters of Manang District. You will admire amazing views of Annapurna II/IV and Lamjung Himal.

Day 08: Chame to Pisang (3,300m/10824ft) 5-6 hours
After breakfast trek and  explore the exotic and rugged mountainous topography of Manang valley on the way, we head up to immerse into the dense and verdant forests of oak and rhododendron. Savoring the natural taste of deep gorges, rivers, aquamarine glaciers, yak pastures and green meadows, we reach to the beautiful Marshyangdi valley and Pisang Village.

Day 09: Pisang to Manang, 6-7 hours
Among two routes to go to Manang we will follow the upper Pisang route because of the excellent views of the beautiful mountains including Annapurna, Pisang, best vegetations and the best landscape. We will visit the Barge Monastery which is the biggest in Manang.

Day 10: Acclimatization day in Manang
We have rest day in Manang today because we need some rest while traveling to mountains. You may keep busy to visit Bhojo Gumba, Vraga village or Gangapurna Lake.

Day 11: Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/13,484ft) 3-4 hours
Another short day of walking crosses a stream, climbs to a village of Tenki and continues to climb out of the Marshyangdi Valley. The trail further passes near the small village of Ghunsa. After that the trail goes through meadows where horses and yaks graze, crossing a small river on a wooden bridge we reach small village of Yak Kharka.

Day 12: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,600m/15,092ft)34 hours
An uphill walk after walking and crossinga suspension bridge we reach Ledar village. We ascend furthermore and pass through towering cliffs before reaching Thorang Phedi, the last village before Thorong La pass.  While trekking we can see the best view of Thorung Peak, Mt. Gundang, Mt. Syagang, and Mt. Khatungkan.

Day 13: Thorong Phedi-Thorong La pass (5416m/17764ft)to Muktinath (3,800m/12,467ft) 7-8 hours

After breakfast at Thorong La Phedi we trek to Thorong La Pass, one of the highest passes in the world from East to West (Manang to Muktinath) which is the easiest and safest route. We morning around 2.30 am and trek up to the mountain. When we finally make it to reached at top around 6-7 am in the morning. This will be the best day to takes me pictures. After that we defend to Muktinath valley.

Day 14: Muktinath to Marpha (2,670m/8,760ft) 4-5 hours
Muktinath, an important pilgrimage site both Hindus and Buddhists . In the morning, we pay our visit to Muktinath Temple and a Gompa. After the temple visit we will trek down toward Kagbeni and then to Jomsom finally arriving at Marpha. Now a days we can also get the Jeep from Jomsom or Muktinath to Marpha if we like to travel by Jeep. Marpha is famous in the region because we can get many varieties of Apples and apple brandy.

Day 15: Marpha to Kalopani (2,530 m/8,300 ft) 5-6 hours
From Marpha, we take a new route toward Kalopani via Chokhopani village. Today, we come across traditional villages of the ethnic Thakali people. Also, we get to see beautiful apple gardens. From here we get panoramic views of Dhaulagari, Tukuche, Nilgiri, Fang and Annapurna I mountains. From Chokhopani, we continue to Kokhethanti. We cross a river and come across the newly constructed road site before reaching Kalopani.

Day 16: Kalopani to Tatopani (1,200m/3,937ft) 6-7 hours
Most of trek today is downhill. We cross the bridge at Ghasa, drop to lower elevations, we emerge back into subtropical forests, lush with vegetation. Our trail continues along Rupse Chahara (a famous waterfall). We continue down the east bank to a bridge at Dana.  We can observe daily lives of the local people around the villages. Upon reaching Tatopani, we relax and have hot spring bath.

Day 17: Tatopani to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,350ft) 7-8 hours
The trail leads us through a terraced farmland with mountains. We pass through the villages of Shikha and Chitre before reaching a beautiful rhododendron forest. Walking further we reach Ghorepani, a beautiful mountain village located at hill top.

Day 18: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani (2,700m/8,860ft)6-7 hours
Early morning will will climb the steep trail to go to the famous mountain viewpoint called Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft), the most popular trekking destination of the Annapurna region. It is also a great viewpoint to enjoy the amazing snow capped mountain views and view of Mustang and Pokhara. After taking some time at the top we return back to Gorepani. for breakfast. After breakfast we descend through rhododendron forests, pass by spectacular waterfalls and reach Tadapani for overnight stay.

Day 19:  Tadapani-Ghandruk to Pokhara (827m/2,789ft) 5-6 hours trek,about an hour drive
We make a steep descent through the dense forest. This part of the trek will be through a thick forest of old rhododendron trees. When the rhododendron trees are in bloom, these forests actually turn into amazing gardens.  After trekking a few more minutes, we enter the village of Ghandruk, a slope settlement with stone houses mostly inhabited by the Gurung people. Here, we enjoy the stunningly close-up towering views of Fishtail, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli mountains. We continue our trek to Nayapul from where we drive to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 20: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu, 5-6 hours drive/ 25 mins flight
After breakfast at a hotel in Pokhara you will drive/fly to Kathmandu. A farewell dinner served in the evening.

Day 21: Final departure.
You will have breakfast and You will be free till your departure. A representative of Yala Adventure will take you airport for your final departure.
