Around Manaslu
Trekking
This picturesque trek goes along Buri Gandaki river
closed until 1992.This route is not a regular trail.It
is used only by the expedition group for
Mt.Manaslu(8163m).As a result,this area still offers
solitary but pure natural vegetation with beautiful
flora and fauna.As the trekking starts from Gorkha(Home
town of Nepal's Royal Family).
The trek start with Sightseeing the old Royal Palace
built in the fortress style with the Kali Temple.The
trail not only passes through the wilderness but also
through the typical Neapli villages and rural market
centre like Arughat Bazaar after Samdo,the trail goes to
the height of the Larkya Pass(5213m).At the last part of
the trek on the way to Besisahar,We can join one of the
busiest trekking trails which goes to make a circuit
around the Annapurna.
Restricted to trekking groups only this trek passes
through spectacular mountain scenery and is culturally
diverse. We begin in the lower Buri Gandaki valley, an
area inhabited by Gurung farmers, and follow a
precipitous trail that dips up and down crossing and
recrossing the Buri Gandaki River. As we gain altitude
and cross the main Himalayan range we enter a region of
strong Tibetan influence where rice terraces give way to
fields of barley and buckwheat.The summits of Manaslu
and Himalchuli are never far away. Mani walls mark the
start of the climb to the Larkya La, a spectacular pass
marked by prayer flags that offers outstanding views of
the surrounding peaks. Our descent is via the
Marshyangdi Valley where we join the Annapurna Circuit
trail to Besisahar.
