Successful accent of 1st Winter Kangchenjunga south Expedition

KangchenjungaThe first winter summit of Kangchenjunga south (8476m) Expedition was successful under the leadership of PHILIPP KUNZ, Germany on 15th February 2012.Yala Adventure is the main sponser and organizer of the expedition.

Mr. Kunz climbed Mt.Langshisha Ri, Pisang peak, Mt. Dorje Lhakpa, Mt. Annapurna II in winter with successful accents. All of them are first winter expeditions.

Amadablam (6812m) is one of the most stunning peaks in the Himalaya and one of the most impressive mountains in the world. Situated in the heart of Everest's Khumbu region, it lies directly above Thyangboche Monastery on the well-worn path to Everest Base Camp and is admired by thousands of trekkers and climbers every year. This expedition offers a superb, technical climbing experience in a magnificent setting with numerous cultural and scenic diversions.

Manaslu (8156m) was first climbed in 1956 by a Japanese expedition. Its name comes from the Sanskrit word manasa, meaning "intellect" or "soul" It is the same root word as that for Manasarover, the holy lake near Mt. Kailash in Tibet. Just as the British considered Everest their mountain. Manaslu has always been a Japanese mountain.HW Tillman and Jimmy Roberts photographed Manaslu during a trek in 1950.

Mera Peak (6654m) is the most popular trekking peak in Nepal, which is also the highest among it's catagory.A physically fit person can make a comfortable ascent of this most spectacular peak with the view of entire Himalayan ranges. Best time for this trip would be from September to December and March to June. This superb trek takes you right through the Khumbu region, with some wonderful views of the major peaks in the area including Everest itself.

Island peak is located on top of the Chukung glacier between Ama Dablam and Lhotse. Hundreds of groups attempt to scale the summit of Island peak ( 6173m) each year because of its challenging geographical conditions.The most difficult section is a mixed rock and ice wall at a slope of around 45 degrees leading to the narrow summit ridge.You may add trek to Everest base camp and Kalapathar before climbing the peak.
